Grouped Assays

The principle of group testing consists in combining samples from multiple individuals into a single pool that is then tested using a single test—which, in the COVID-19 context, amounts to using a single RT-PCR well and reactive kit. The pool sample is considered to be positive if and only if at least one individual in the group is infected.
